Developed by Paul and Natalie Burt through their years of mentoring couples in their home parish, this workbook reflects the lived reality of marriage, the beauty, the challenges, and the grace found in both. It grew from conversations, prayer, and a desire to help couples build something rooted not only in love, but in faith. The approach is simple, yet intentional. The language is clear and accessible, creating space for honest reflection and meaningful dialogue. Within that simplicity is an invitation to go deeper and to recognize that the strength of a marriage flows from a shared relationship with God.

While the workbook includes familiar and important topics such as family of origin, communication, conflict resolution, and finances, it also opens the door to conversations that are often overlooked. Couples are invited to reflect on how they grow in faith together, how they practice forgiveness in daily life, how they can serve in ministry together, and how their wedding liturgy or convalidation can reflect something personal and sacred. The journey begins with the Prayer of St. Francis and it’s call to humility, peace, and self-giving love and ends with a reflection on the domestic church, where the home becomes a place of faith, mercy, and witness to God’s presence.

For ministry leaders and mentor couples, this resource offers a way to accompany rather than instruct, to listen as much as to guide. It can be used in mentorship, in preparation for marriage, or in moments of renewal, but always with the same goal: to help couples encounter God within their relationship.
